Obama Vision - Part I

This is the first of many "Obama Vision" reports I hope to write.  Obama vision is in his warped view of the world, the nation, and reality.  The only reason you rarely hear about them is because the media in so out of touch with reality that they think he is normal.

Earth to Obama!!!  If you are going to have your wife out on the campaign trail representing your candidacy, AND if she continues to make ridiculous comments about America, Americans, the economy, racism... she is fair game.  Grow up!  Get over yourselves.  You can't have it both ways.  If she represents you in this campaign, she needs to think before she talks.

Are there Any Leaders in the Republican Party?

I have stated before that I am no longer a Republican first but rather a Conservative.  I find myself in unusual territory during this political season.  Never before in my 38 years of voting have I ever had trouble deciding who to vote for or whether to vote at all.  This year, despite a complete lack of support for John McCain, I have tried to convince myself that it is better to vote for him than for the alternative.  Every time I get close to achieving this concept, John McCain does something to make me question my intelligence in voting for him.  John may have been a war hero, but he is not a political hero be any stretch of the imagination.  Republicans continue to loose ground across the nation.  Still I hear no cogent plan, no Republican standing up to state their case.  Republicans seem to be on the run to simply appear to be like Democrats.  Yet, in doing so, the continue to alienate their base.  They can't win enough democratic voters to succeed and they appear hell-bent on ignoring their base.  This is a recipe for disaster come Fall.

Are there any true leaders in the Republican party?  I really wonder.

Based on yesterdays vote count for the Pelose War Bill, it appears that Bohner has no leadership skills and had no plan.  Thanks to Representatives Pence (R-CA) and Lewis (R-CA), something got done.  Perhaps in the greatest leadership vacuum of all time for the Republican party, perhaps new conservative leaders will begin to emerge.

Conservative Against McCain

Like many conservatives, I will not be supporting John McCain this fall.  I won't vote for Hillary or Obama, however, I cannot vote for that which I do not believe to be best for America. 

Newt Gingrich recently spoke about "A Conservative Declaration of Independence..." from the Republican party and the need to pursue conservatives from the Republican and Democratic party.  I agree with this position. 

I look forward to supporting conservatives running for either Senate seats and/or House seats this year.  These individuals will get my vote, support, and money...not the Republican party.

Fairness Doctrine Sanity

Thank you Representative Mike Pence, Republican, 6th District of Indiana.  Representative Pence authored an amendment (H.AMDT.484)to House Bill HR 2829 which disallowed the FCC from using budget funds to implement the fairness doctrine.  The amendment was approved (309-115).  This should slow down the attack on free speech by the socialist democratic party.

Harry Reid's Hypocrisy

Harry Reid recently noted how President Bush was not following "the will of the people" (Breibart.com, Jan 5th, 2007) by staying in Iraq.  Yet this week Harry Reid himself was not following the will of the people when it came to support for the Immigration Bill.  Only 22% of Americans support (Rasmussen Reports) the Immigration bill, this represents fewer numbers than the number of Americans who support the Iraq war (27% percent, Rasmussen Reports).  Mr Reid on the other hand continued to support the Immigration bill anyway.  Recently, Mr. Reid spoke on the floor of the Senate about receiving a call from a young man named "Tommy".  He explained how Tommy should support the Immigration Bill and why. 

Mr. Reid, if President Bush is wrong for not following the will of the people by getting out of Iraq, then sir you should have not supported the Immigration Bill. 

The American Heritage Dictionary defines hypocrisy as "The practice of professing beliefs, feelings, or virtues that one does not hold or possess; falseness."  Mr Reid, this makes you a hypocrite sir... pull your head out of the sand.

Your Elected Officials Are Listening To You

It's a joke.  No, they are not listening to you. 

22% of Americans (Rasmussen Reports) favor the current immigration bill and yet the Senate moves forward at full steam.  Your tax dollars and votes at work!  It doesn't matter what you tendencies are (liberal, conservative), they are not listening.

Call your Senators before it is too late.

Democrats Try to Censor Free Speech and Open Markets

Once again, we see democrats working to limit free speech and open markets.  Why? It is not because they see a market imbalance, it is because they could not sell their message in an open market.  Now they want to limit (censor) others.

This censorship of ideas is named the "Fairness Doctrine".  It seems to be an oxymoron if there ever was one.  Liberal talk radio has had it's chance in an open market, it failed.  Air America was a disaster and always suffered from low ratings.  What really happened was that the liberal socialist democrats could not sell their message to America. 

Don't be fooled, the "Fairness Doctrine" is coming soon.  If you value true freedom of speech or speech without censorship, I would start calling your local Senators and Representatives now!  If you don't it will gain momentum in the liberal media (see liberal media bias from the Media Research Center) to the point where it will be forced on us whether we want it or not.

Isn't it interesting that this "Fairness Doctrine" is only applied to radio and not the liberal bias in television news?  Both are overseen by the FCC, however, only one is unfair.  Typical liberal thinking, whatever we don't like should be controlled by government.

Anyone but McCain - update

I have been a Republican all my life and have lived in the State of Arizona for the last 21 years.  During that time, I have been embarrassed by the actions of our State Senator John McCain.  For years I have been looking for an opportunity to join a recall effort to have him removed.  No such luck.  After recent events that have demonstrated his penchant for making himself look good on TV while ignoring his constituency and the Republican base at large, I have decided to start a “Anyone But McCain” campaign.  The purpose of this campaign is to bring to light events that demonstrate his lack of leadership AND to gain support from others for this campaign.

Hugh Hewitt commented on May 24th that McCain likes the idea of taking political changes to look like a leader, however, he actions demonstrate that he hasn't a clue as a standard bearer of conservatism.

American Conservatism

Under development...

Whereas the Republicans or Republican party...

has abdicated its responsibility to provide security for the American public
has not learned the real reason why their constituents did not vote for them in 2006
are afraid to stand up for what they really believe in a public manner
are more interested in pandering for votes than in representing conservatism
will not support marriage between a man and woman
will not work to counter the lies portrayed daily in the news media
will not stand up against a culture of death which is disguised as personal choice

Whereas there comes a time when citizens must...

stand up for what is right
make their vote meaningful
must vote in favor of morality
support families
vote for true fiscal responsibility

It is time for a new party to emerge, an American Conservative Party. 

Will it provide for socialist democratic victories in the future?   Yes
Will it weaken the only opposition party to the socialist democrats?  Yes

However, at least I won't have to live in constant hypocrisy by voting for that which I do not believe.

A Case Study for a Successful Immigrant

A couple of days ago, I was having lunch with a coworker who is a minority.  We were discussing her new home and her big screen TV and how all her family wants to come over all the time to enjoy watching football games and other sporting events.  I asked her, “How is it that you have a new home a big screen TV and your parents, sisters and brothers don’t?”  Her answer led to a wonderful case study about how to be successful in this country.

She said that when she was in school, she didn’t know how to speak English and was never required to learn it in her English as a Second Language (ESL) program.  She mentioned how in high school people would laugh at her inability to read any literature written in the English language.  Finally, she had enough and decided to change.  She worked hard, learned English, learned how to read English and started performing better in her school work.  

She is now married and has two children.  She successfully completed a Bachelor’s degree and now has a professional job.  She is working on her Master’s degree and continues to be very successful.  Her expertise, thoroughness and hard work makes my job easier.  I constantly remind her and others about how important she is to the success of our organization.

The discussion continued as she shared with me how her parents and family are always hounding her to teach her kids her native language first and English second.  She said, “I tell them that I will teach my kids English first and our language second.”  She explains that she doesn’t want her kids to have the same experiences she did. 

As the discussion slowed down, I was amazed at her courage.  I was the chair of her hiring committee years ago.  I asked her, “Do you know why you got this job over other applicants?”  She did not.  I told her that the committee hired her because of her communication skills.  She had similar skills as other applicants but her communication skills were better.  The committee determined that it was easier to teach her any additional technical skills needed but that it was hard to teach people good personal and communication skills. 

Her personal decisions made during high school laid the foundation for her success.  What a wonderful example for others.  I’m sure her kids will also be successful.  She is a great case study of a successful immigrant.  She is also a very close friend.

It's The "Global" Jihad War Stupid

Confessions of a Conservative

I admit it, I'm a conservative.  According to the Media and Democrats, I'm bigoted, mean-spirited and a racist.  I support taxes on the rich, am not concerned with the health of women, have no concern for the environment, support big oil companies, and a warmonger.  So, I confess...I am a conservative and here are my beliefs.

Bigotry:  I'm not bigoted.  I do not support homosexual agendas but I have many friends who are homosexual.  I cherish my friendship with them.  Why the contrast?  It comes from a deep spiritual belief in Christ AND a belief in the scriptures.  I don't try to justify that scriptural references mean something else, they don't...they are quite clear.  Having said that, the scriptures say that we should love all people.  I do.  That does not mean that I have to agree with their behavior.  No matter how much the media tries to blur the lines, it is clear.

Racism: I despise racism.  I was taught not to hate other racists and I teach my children the same principles.  Personally, I believe those that are the most involved in creating racism are the racebaiter.  Racebaiter are those who find racism even when it doesn't exist and are not apologetic when they are wrong.  It is true that racism exists, it is true that it needs to be removed.  I continue to do my part to by being an example and teach my children correct principles.

Tax Cuts: I do support tax cuts, including President Bush's, so do I support taxes on the rich?  It depends on how you define it. During the recent election, there was a senatorial campaign that stated how he had received over $90,000 in tax cuts compared to a person in poverty only receiving $400.  He stated that this was an example of supporting tax cuts for the rich.  He failed to mention that he was making multimillion every year and the person he referred to made only $20,000 per year.  Do the math, they both received approximately the same "percentage" of funds back in tax cuts.  My family and I received approximately $800 back in tax cuts.  Does that tell you which end of the spectrum I am on?

Abortion: Believe it or not, I support abortion!  How can that be?  I support it in cases of rape, incest and the health of the woman.  I do NOT support abortion on demand.  I do not support government funded abortions. Why?  There are many reasons.  The most important reason is that "abortion on demand" does not teach participants anything.  We learn as we go through life by our mistakes.  When we try to cover up the natural consequences, we do not learn.  If we want to teach people not to have unplanned pregnancies, there must be a consequence for having unprotected sex.  The "natural consequence" is that a woman may get pregnant.  It sounds harsh, but it is.  The only other option for avoiding the consequence is to kill a live fetus...that is very harsh. 

Environment/Oil:  I support being a good steward of our planet and our resources.  I would love to have the opportunity to purchase a environmental vehicle that does not use gas.  We (my wife and I) have plans to look at alternative vehicles in the next couple of years.  The prices are finally coming down low enough that we may be able to consider it.  I also would love, to NOT have to buy one drop of oil from the middle east.  We triumphed in the cold war through economics.  I actually believe the solution to the middle east problems will be helped when we remove the oil money from the pockets of terrorists.  In the mean time, we need to work towards becoming energy sufficient FAST.  This includes both alternative fuels AND unfortunately oil as well.  Not allowing the U.S. to use it's own resources, even temporarily, is as irresponsible as relying only on oil alone.  Until this occurs, we will never be able to progress without military options.

War in Iraq:  I support the war, we can win if we allow the troops to do their job and stop holding them back.  "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."  Millions of Iraqis voted for their freedom.  If they didn't want freedom, why did they vote for it.  If we as American's remain in a narcissistic state when it comes to freedom, we are doomed to loose it.  The surprising thing to me is that I am not aware of one battle that we have lost in Iraq, however, everyone is saying that we are loosing the war.  Currently "Cut and Run" policies of the democrats are playing right into the hands of the islamicfascists.  We will pay a heavy price for our ignorance.

So there it is!  I'm not quite the evil person portrayed by media and democrats.  I have a very close friend who is very liberal.  He was sharing his thoughts about how evil the conservative movement had been.  I told him that he would be surprised how much alike we really are.  We discussed these topics for a while and in the end, he agreed with me that we were a lot closer that he had thought.  We still disagree on the war but we both have greater respect for each other. 

Do yourselves a favor, turn off the mainstream media, it will only dull your senses.
